Canon have today released a firmware update, Ver. 1.1.1, for their EOS 40D digital SLR camera.

This update fixes a number of issues. More information can be found at the Canon EOS 40D firmware update webpage.

Canon have released an updated version of the firmware for their new EOS 5D Mark II digital SLR camera.

According to Canon, the firmware addresses two issues:

1. "Black dot" phenomenon (the right side of point light sources become black)
2. Vertical banding noise
