We've received advanced warning of some likely price rises as follows:

• Lowepro (All): 10%
• Tamron lenses: 15%
• Velbon Tripods: 15%
• Gorillapod 10%

These rises will be effective 1st January 2009 from our suppliers. We will try to stock up as much as possible before then and maintain current prices whilst stocks last.

There are also warnings that, at current exchange rates, further rises may be necessary later in 2009.

Nikon has just announced a new flagship model for their range of digital SLR, the Nikon D3X.

Due to increased production costs and the fall of the Australian dollars, Pentax and Sigma products have just increased in price. We are trying to preserve the lower price on stocked items and delay the passing on the increase to our customers for as long as possible.

At last! We're able to report pricing on the new Canon EOS 5D mk II... at least the recommended pricing.

• Canon EOS 5D Mk II w/ 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens (Premium kit) - $5,799

We now have our buy prices and can confirm that the body only will retail for $3,999. The 24-105mm 'Premium Kit' will retail for $5,129.

However, stock will be extremely limited as we're expecting to receive just one or two shipments before Christmas. We strongly advise pre-ordering.
