We're always looking for ways to improve our service, and we've just completed an update that will allow us to provide our customers with much easier ways to find those key features that you really want. If you're looking for a waterproof digital camera, or you want a digital camera with a touch-screen LCD or optical viewfinder, they're now listed in our new feature categories.

We'll be creating categories covering many of the most popular product features over the coming days. If you have any ideas for categories that aren't shown, please let us know.

Canon have this morning announce a new digital SLR, the EOS 550D. Full details will be available very soon, but the basic specs are:

• 18 megapixel resolution
• High-resolution 3-inch LCD screen (over 1million pixels)
• Full HD video
• Live view
• ISO 100-6400 (expandable to 12,800)
• 3.7 frames per second
• SDXC memory card capability (new format with greater capacity)
• Available as body only, single IS lens kit (18-55mm), twin IS lens kit (18-55mm + 55-250mm), Platinum lens kit (15-85mm), Premium lens kit (18-200mm)

The 550D will sit between the existing 500D and 50D models.

We expect stock to arrive late in February, but will, as ever, be limited. Pricing TBA.

In what we anticipate will be a move to clear the path for some new models, Canon has temporarily dropped the price on a large number of their PowerShot and IXUS compact cameras, plus the EOS 1000D and EOS 450D.

The best bargain is the Canon IXUS 120 IS, which dropped by $120 to just $289. We've also slashed $100 off all EOS 1000D kits (including body only), and $60 off the EOS 450D.

Canon have announced four new cameras in their PowerShot range to cater to the entry level end of the market.

The Canon PowerShot A3100 IS features a 12.1 megapixel sensor, with 4x optical zoom. This camera replaces the current PowerShot A2000 IS.

The PowerShot A3000 IS has a 10 megapixel sensor and replaces the current PowerShot A1000 IS model.

Both new models have new slimline styling, somewhere between the older models they replace and the compact IXUS range. This has meant a move to lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, away from the AA batteries used previously in these cameras.

Joby have released a free iPhone app, Gorillacam, for the iPhone 3G/3GS for use with the fantastic Gorillamobile 3G/3GS.

The app enhances the iPhone camera capabilty with a number of features including 3-shot burst, self-timer and time-lapse.
